How to Write Prompts for Desi AI Influencers: Prompt Guide

Why prompts matter more than the model
With AI influencer platforms, the model handles the generation — but the prompt determines everything about what gets generated. A weak prompt produces generic, unusable output. A well-structured prompt produces content indistinguishable from a professional photoshoot.
This guide teaches the exact prompt structures that produce the best results from DesiCMO's Image Lab and Video Lab.

The four-component prompt structure
Every high-performing Image Lab prompt has four components:
1. Scene setting
Where is your influencer? Be specific.
❌ Weak: "At home" ✅ Strong: "In a warmly lit bedroom, sitting at a white vanity table, morning sunlight through sheer curtains"
2. Identity anchor
Reference the influencer's name and a consistent visual cue.
✅ Example: "Aanya, Indian woman in her late 20s, natural makeup"
3. Product context
Name the product specifically. Include brand name (or placeholder), what she's doing with it, and the label visibility you want.
❌ Weak: "holding a serum" ✅ Strong: "holding a slim amber glass serum bottle with [Brand] label clearly visible, gentle upward angle, 30cm from face"
4. Mood and lighting
The emotional register and lighting setup.
✅ Examples:
- "warm golden hour lighting, relaxed authentic smile"
- "bright daylight, excited unboxing expression"
- "soft studio light, professional and confident"

Skincare product still
"Aanya, Indian woman in her late 20s, natural makeup, sitting at a warmly lit vanity in a bedroom setting, holding [BrandName] Vitamin C serum bottle with label clearly visible, warm golden morning light through sheer curtains, relaxed genuine smile, close-to-medium shot, photorealistic"
Fashion outfit reveal
"Simran, 24-year-old Indian woman, fashion-forward style, standing in front of a bedroom mirror, wearing a fuchsia and gold silk kurta set by [BrandName], dupatta styled loosely over shoulder, ring light visible in mirror reflection, confident style-forward expression"
Fitness supplement
"Kavya, Indian woman in athletic wear, in a bright modern gym, holding [BrandName] protein shake bottle post-workout, light sweat on forehead, energetic and satisfied expression, natural daylight from gym windows"
SaaS product
"Riya, Indian professional woman, 28, in a co-working space with MacBook open, holding phone showing [AppName] dashboard, smart-casual kurta, confident analytical expression, warm office lighting"
Hinglish script prompts for Video Lab
Video Lab scripts work best when they capture authentic code-switching — the way real Indian creators actually talk.
Structure of a high-converting Hinglish script
Hook (0–3s): Stop-scroll statement in Hinglish
"Yaar, mujhe finally woh cheez mili jo actually kaam karti hai."
Problem acknowledgement (3–8s): Identify the pain point
"Pichle 2 saal se oily skin ke liye kuch bhi try kiya — nahi chala."
Product reveal (8–20s): Introduce the product naturally
"[BrandName] ka yeh serum — 7 din mein difference clearly visible tha."
Claim + proof (20–28s): Specific, believable claim
"Pores literally chote dikhne lage, aur sunscreen properly set ho rahi hai for the first time."
CTA (28–30s): Soft, conversational
"Link bio mein hai — under ₹799. Try kar ke dekho."
Platform-specific prompt modifiers
Different content formats need different prompt endings:
| Format | Add to end of prompt |
|---|---|
| Instagram Reel | "vertical 9:16 format, Reel-optimised lighting" |
| Instagram Stories | "vertical format, casual and spontaneous energy" |
| Product detail image | "clean white background, product-forward, commercial" |
| Lifestyle editorial | "natural environment, magazine-style composition" |
| Testimonial format | "direct to camera, warm and authentic, conversational" |
What to avoid
| Avoid | Why |
|---|---|
| Celebrity face references | IP + safety blocks |
| "Ultra-realistic" modifiers | DesiCMO images are already photorealistic — this doesn't help |
| Multiple conflicting moods | Pick one emotional register per prompt |
| Over-specified backgrounds | Let the model pick secondary details |
| Unnamed products | Always include brand name or "[BrandName]" placeholder |
Advanced: identity-reinforcing references
To keep outputs strongly locked to your influencer's visual identity, include brief reference anchors in every prompt:
"...same Indian woman as base still, consistent face, consistent skin tone, consistent hair..."
This signals to the model to maintain identity consistency even when the scene changes dramatically.
